Every company has a mission, vision, goals, and objectives. In order to reach these, the company creates departments. Each department focuses on specific tasks that help the company to achieve its overall mission and goals. Consider a hospital with various departments like admissions, trauma center, records, emergency, ICU, radiology, finance, chaplaincy, etc. One of the reasons for these many departments is for them to be able to focus on specific populations or health problems and needs and hone in their skills in each area. Thus they are able to create an overall ideal healing environment. Patients seek them out because they know that these hospitals have what they (the patients) need and will best take care of such needs.
Now, think of St. Bart’s in terms of a company, or better a hospital, but one with a higher mission, which Christ gave to his Church. As a parish, we have a mission statement. We have our own departments, but we call them ministries, committees, or councils. Their mission is tied in to the overall mission of the parish. To help each ministry understand their tasks and responsibilities and be able to fulfill them, a mission statement, vision statement, and clear goals and objectives could be developed whenever possible.
St. Bart’s is a vibrant and alive parish! Through our many spirit-led ministries and activities, we strive to involve the entire faith community in experiences that touch every aspect of Catholic life, worship, and outreach. We also strive to provide you with various ministries to serve you and your family in your needs as well as many ministries in which you can serve. Please take time to look at our vast array of ministry opportunities.
You will discover in them how the Holy Spirit is moving among us! Hopefully, you will also hear the promptings of that Spirit to offer your time and talents to one or more of these many rewarding ministries and activities. Please contact the coordinator of the ministries or activities to which you feel called. We encourage and welcome your participation. St. Bart’s will certainly be the richer for it!

PRAYER FOR THE SUCCESS OF OUR PARISH PASTORAL PLAN AND GOALS
Heavenly Father, we thank You for calling our parish family into existence, and for using us as an instrument of Your salvation. We thank You for our past members whose vision, dedication, and generosity helped us to thus far fulfill the mission You entrusted to us. Thank You for calling me to be part of this continuing mission. Above all, thank You for my brothers and sisters who constitute this beautiful parish family as it is today.
Lord Jesus, You are the source of all things new. As we thank You for the strong parish that we are today, we pray for a greater future - to be better positioned to carry out Your mission. Thus, we entrust to You our Parish Pastoral Plan and Goals. Give us the grace to become a more vibrant and efficient, salvation instrument in Your hands. Help us to look beyond the people in our pews to the people who are not here, helping and supporting, both them and us to get closer to You. Strengthen our commitment to bring hope and joy to those in despair, comfort to the afflicted, and justice to the poor.
O Holy Spirit, animate us with Your vision, wisdom and zeal. Be with us, guide and strengthen us. Remove any apathy or resistance, which hinders us from becoming the very best You have called us to be. Instill in us the generosity to readily share our gifts, talents, time, and financial resources, so as to further the mission You entrust to us. Bless us and bless the work of our hands. Amen.
